Kyoko and her adorable daughter, Tohru, were cooking a delicious fish meal for her charming husband Katsuya. The delicious aroma coming from the frying pan was making Kyoko lick her lips over and over again. Tohru was probably thinking the same thing, because she was reaching up from underneath Kyoko to try and steal a piece of the cooking food.
“Tohru-chan, I know it smells delicious, but we can’t eat it just yet! We have to wait for your Daddy to come home… Remember Tohru-chan, this is a special dinner just for him!” Kyoko told her daughter, as she crouched down to look at her in the eyes. Kyoko smiled warmly and felt happiness bloom once again in her heart as she looked into her daughter’s curious gaze.
“Tohru… You are a very lucky girl. Your Tou-san… He loves you very much. And you Kaa-san loves you so much too.” Kyoko told her daughter matter of a factly. Truthfully, Kyoko was so glad her daughter was born… She suddenly has a flashback about telling her mother how se had never asked to be born… She really hoped Tohru would never say something like that, Kyoko would never be able to forgive herself. She would never be truly happy if someone she birthed would say that. She slapped her forehead, trying to foget about that and then proceeded to pick up her cute little girl and allowed her to watch the salmon sizzle in the pan. It probably was quite the show for her.
“Let’s make this dinner extra special for Daddy!” She said, confidence shinning in her glossy eyes.

The smell of the meal she and Kyoko were making was intoxicating, and the young girl could hear her stomach groaning. Finally, she couldn't resist anymore, and in, what she hoped to be, a sneaky manner, Tohru reached out for a morsel. Unfortunately, she was stopped short by her mother and immediately felt guilty at the sight of the woman's warm smile. "G... Gomen nasai, Okaa-san..." She lamented softly, looking shamefully at the floor.
Looking up at Kyoko as she spoke again, a smile crept onto her fair features as she nodded furiously. I'm very lucky to have Okaa-san and Outou-san!
As her mother lifted her from the floor, Tohru immediately wrapped her arms around her neck and her legs around her waist, to prevent herself from falling. Watching the salmon slowly cook, liquid chocolate eyes wandered to the various ingredients scattered over the counter top. "Okaa-san, didn't the book say to put in spices while it was cooking?" She inquired, large innocent eyes turning to look at the woman holding her.

** Bb dies of the cuteness of your post**
As she had picked up her tiny daughter, she felt the girl’s little arms encircle her neck and the little legs that had crawled up her sides were being used as a supporting system. ‘Strange, I had really always wanted a little being of my own to hang on me. I guess I finally have that now.’ Kyoko thought happily as she watched Tohru-chan’s huge brown pools survey the steaming fish. It made her so happy, just to be watching her daughter, that she barely noticed Tohru speaking to her.
"Okaa-san, didn't the book say to put in spices while it was cooking?" The tone of Tohru’s voice was different from other kids’, Kyoko thought so anyway. It had such a beautiful ring to it; Kyoko felt as though she could hear a certain part of her husband if she closed her eyes and listened to the little girl’s charming voice. Kyoko noticed her daughter’s gaze directed patiently at her, seeming to be awaiting some kind of answer… ‘Wait, if I put some sense into those words that Tohu-chan just spoke… Book... Cooking... Spices?’ Kyoko thought about this, as she rubbed her chin. The statement Tohru had made finally came to her.
“AH! NOW I SEE! SPICES! GAHH!” Kyoko yelped alarmed by the thought of yet another ruined meal. She could imagine it already; Katsuya coming home from a tiring day of work, sitting down at the table awaiting a scrumptious meal from his wife and daughter. And as he plopped the first piece of salmon into his mouth and it slid down his throat, he would cringe in disgust. No, she refused to let that happen! She shuffled around quickly, desperately trying to find the spices. She nearly dropped Tohru several times.

“AH! NOW I SEE! SPICES! GAHH!” Her mother shrieked, and Tohru had to hold on for dear life as Kyoko began to run around in erratic patterns, looking for the spices. She squeaked as she came close to falling, but was soon scooped back to safety. What did they call it in the book? Ah... I can't remember... demo, the bottle...
Liquid brown gaze surveying the counter, a picture on one of the labels caught her eye. Pulling on Kyoko's sleeve to get her attention, she pointed at the bottle. "Okaa-san... that was the picture in the book... I think..." She said softly, one arm still wound around her mother's neck to stop herself from tumbling to the ground.
She knew Otou-san would never turn down anything Okaa-san cooked for him, even at her young age. Tohru couldn't help but smile, even if she was a little envious of her father, at how easily he could make Kyoko smile. Demo... that's a really bad feeling... Okaa-san always says it's bad...

Kyoko felt a tug on her sleeve. She had almost forgotten the tiny daughter clinging to her. She looked to her with kindness.
“Ah, gomen nasai, Tohru-chan. I just really don’t want to spoil this dinner for your Tou-san, Katsuya!” She told her daughter. Her daughter though was not looking for attention.
"Okaa-san... that was the picture in the book... I think..." little Tohru said, pointing at a bottle. She was in fact correct; the label even said ‘Spices’ on it. One could not get much more precise than that.
“Ahh… Once again, my Tohru-chan saves me. Arigato, Tohru.” She said, patting the daughter’s head. She added a kind amount of spices to the fish and let it sizzle. She then looked to her daughter once again, but this time, the girl seemed to be lost in thought. Kyoko nudged her out of the lull.
“Tohru-chan, I can tell when something is on my daughter’s mind… Is something bothering you?” She asked, looking into the girl’s shy eyes.

“Tohru-chan, I can tell when something is on my daughter’s mind… Is something bothering you?” Her mother inquired, bringing her from her thoughts with a gentle prod. "E... eh?! Iie! I'm fine, Okaa-san!" The young girl cried, her eyes resembling two large saucers as she shook her head furiously. Normally, Tohru wasn't one to lie... but her thoughts were so shameful... she'd hate for Kyoko to know about them.
Averting her liquid chocolate gaze, Tohru busied herself with watching the salmon sizzle. Gosh, it really did smell delicious. Otou-san was bound to love it... afterall, he'd been gone for almost a month now, and the young girl could tell her mother had been antsy. In total honesty, she thought her father was a villain for doing that to her mother...
Shaking her head gently, she looked up at her mother imploringly, a soft smile on her features. "Is it nearly done, Okaa-san?"

Tohru looked into her mother’s eyes with a delicate smile. ‘Kawaii!’ thought Kyoko, looking at her daughter happily. If someone stopped time right now, and Kyoko could always look into her daughter’s eyes and watch that perfect smile, she’d be delighted! It would take Kyoko an eternity to get tired of that adorable face.
“Is it nearly done, Okaa-san?” she implored. Kyoko laughed.
“It certainly smells nearly done! Let’s see what the recipe book has to say…” Kyoko told her girl, lifting the book with her free hand.
“Let sizzle for twenty minutes… That means there are about ten minutes left. I can hardly wait to eat it!” Kyoko proclaimed, letting the book drop to the floor. As the book fell harshly to the ground, Kyoko giggled. Her daughter though, seemed a little shaken by the noise.
“Gomen, Tohru-chan! Hmm… Now we have to pick this up, don’t we?” Kyoko began, rubbing her chin. She already had a plan in mind, one that would certainly make her little girl explode with laughter. She knew Tohru liked these kinds of games.
“With me holding you… What can I do to pick up that book with you in my arms? I wonder…” Kyoko asked, a sly smile now appearing on her mouth. Kyoko gasped.
“Ah! I’ll just do this!” Kyoko said. As soon as she said that, her daughter’s curious eyes were surprised as Kyoko dipped down very low, and Tohru was now upside down. Kyoko guffawed, and watched Tohru’s reaction.

“It certainly smells nearly done! Let’s see what the recipe book has to say…” Kyoko said happily, and the young girl couldn't disagree, feeling her hunger increase ten-fold at the delicious aroma filling her nose. “Let sizzle for twenty minutes… That means there are about ten minutes left. I can hardly wait to eat it!” Her mother cried, and Tohru smiled before giving a small start as the book clattered to the ground.
“Gomen, Tohru-chan! Hmm… Now we have to pick this up, don’t we?” Her mother mused, and she looked up at the woman expectantly, though she had the feeling she knew where this was going...
“With me holding you… What can I do to pick up that book with you in my arms? I wonder…” Kyoko began, the sly smirk confirming Tohru's suspicions, but before she could say a word, the woman had gasped, “Ah! I’ll just do this!” Before her vision of the small kitchen was reversed.
The young girl's initial gasp of surprise soon transformed to a fit of giggles, as her short chocolate hair an inch from brushing the floor. Her small legs were hooked tightly around Kyoko's slim waist, to prevent herself from tumbling to the tiled floor below. Still giggling faintly, Tohru reached out for the book. I... I really like having Okaa-san... all to myself... even if it's... selfish...

** I... I really like having Okaa-san... all to myself... even if it's... selfish... GENKI! I’m warning you, imouto… If you continue to act so d**n cute, I’m going to have to eat up you and your posts and your entire existence! Consider this your final warning! (Lol, you’re really too cute though… I love you! )** She watched her daughter giggle as brown and orange hair twisted together, creating a strange but beautiful mix. She watched Tohru paw at the fallen book with her tiny hands to pick it up as they stood there upside down. Such precious moments to both of them… Yet Kyoko could still see it. Kyoko was indeed very naïve and some could even say she was stupid at times, but there was something in Tohru’s eyes that told another tale. There might be a thought Tohru was trying to push away… But then again, what children did not have thoughts they regretted or tried to push away? Tohru grabbed a semi-firm grasp on the book, and Kyoko smiled at her. “It sure would be neat to live like this, wouldn’t it? Upside down all the time… You really do see the world in a whole new way… Look up there! The lamp is upside down!” Kyoko said, fascinated by this new view of the world. New views of the world… ‘Thank you, Katsuya…’ she thought to herself happily as she looked into Tohru’s equally fascinated brown orbs.

**H... hai... Bb-nee... ^^;**
Once the young girl had a semi-firm grasp on the book, she pulled it to her chest. “It sure would be neat to live like this, wouldn’t it? Upside down all the time… You really do see the world in a whole new way… Look up there! The lamp is upside down!” Her mother said joyously, and Tohru looked up at the object in question. "Hai!" The child beamed, before looking around the kitchen with wide, innocent eyes.
"We're standing on the celing!" She giggled, pulling the cook book to her chest. Curiously, Tohru reached out and took a stand of orange hair and her own russet coloured mane and studied at the unusual, yet oddly beautiful combination. The smell of the salmon filling her nose, she sniffed the air curiously. "Okaa-san... what time is Otou-san coming home...?"
