Name: Yuki Sohma.
Age: 5-6 years old. (RP time)
Juunishi: Year of the Rat. (Nezumi)
Personality:
Not only the girls, but also the male students are attracted to Yuki's countenance which has earned him the nickname Prince Yuki. He is the new student council president.
However, while everyone around him sees Yuki as being perfect and a flawless genious, Yuki himself has no love or respect for himself.
The cause of Yuki's lack of self-confidence is largely due to Akito. The psychological trauma Yuki suffered from Akito is very deep and for a period, like Kisa, Yuki also lost the ability to speak.
Yuki also has an older brother whom he has troubles getting along with. However, he is trying to understand and learn more about him but...... And of course, he also hates Kyo. Yuki isn't good at housework, cooking or little things like tying ties. However, litle by little he is trying to deal with these weaknesses.
While Kyo is quite open about expressing his feelings, Yuki is not very good at expressing himself. However, from time to time, he will express his love in an almost heart-stopping manner. On the school roof, the stairs and in the back garden of the ryokan (Japanese inn), he suddenly became the prince. Not the pseudo-prince image that he shows at school, but Tohru's true prince. That change in himself is slowly seeing his regular self also change.
Relationships:
Akito Sohma:
As a child, Yuki was traumatized by Akito Sohma, the Head of the family. When Yuki was younger was cruel to Yuki and told him terrible things that Yuki could never forget. He locked him in a dark room and told him poisonous words of a cruel world, filled with people who would only seperate themselves from him.
Kyou Sohma:
Originally, Yuki didn't hate Kyou; he actually wanted to be friends with him. But Kyou refused, as he hated Yuki, the rat, for inherently being superior to the cat. The conversation first started when Kyou dropped his red hat. Yuki picked it up and offered it to him, but Kyou turned the hat down, disgusted that the rat would touch his things.
The hat ended up the hands of Tohru, who had gotten lost as a child. Yuki (whom Tohru did not recall nor recognize when they met again as teenagers) found her and led her home, giving her Kyou's hat.
It has only very recently been revealed that Kyou never hated Yuki for who he was, but had been so miserable with his life that he felt he needed a scapegoat for all his misfortune. Kyou felt it would only be logical for the cat to blame the rat and began to hate Yuki for this reason alone.
Their relationship has become more overtly complex since this revelation. Kyou has always felt Yuki was more fortunate and always able to take advantage of a situation like one should, thus Kyou's dislike of Yuki stemmed from envy. However, Yuki reveals to Kyou that he is jealous of Kyou, because despite all of Kyou's bad luck and misfortunes, he is not passive like Yuki (something Yuki despises of himself) and able to vocally express his own emotions and thoughts regardless of what they are and also bring happiness to Tohru, something Yuki knows that he will never be able to do in the same way.
Hatsuharu Sohma:
Haru has something of a split personality. His darker side, 'Black Haru', revealed when annoyed or threatened, transforms the usually calm, stoic, and well-mannered boy—'White Haru'— into a brash, violent, and somewhat perverted individual. His alter ego originated from teasing when he was young; adults accused the ox of being stupid for letting the rat ride on its back during the journey to the banquet of the Chinese Zodiac. Haru bitterly blamed Yuki Sohma, the rat in the Sohma clan, but Yuki helped him realize that Haru was not at fault for the ox's actions. Since then, Haru has claimed that Yuki was his first love. He went out of his way to protect Yuki from Akito Sohma, even making a deal with Shigure Sohma so Yuki would be able to live in his house.
Ayame Sohma:
The fact that both Ayame and Yuki are members of the Jyunishi is quite unusual since it is very rare that any of the Jyunishi are siblings at any given time. Because their mother was unable to force Ayame to bend to her will, she turned to Yuki and controlled every aspect of his life. Yuki became emotionally both fragile and detached in her attempts to gain status and wealth within the family while she bluntly and tactlessly shot down any attempts he made to refuse her wishes. The unbalanced relationship between mother and son is broken completely and Yuki is finally able to stand up to her when Ayame appears at the parent-teacher conference, interrupting his mother as she dictates Yuki's future to his teacher. The two have been on considerably better terms since.
Kisa Sohma:
Yuki feels a connection with Kisa, as Yuki, like Kisa, went through a stage when he refused to speak as a result of Akito's actions.
Tohru Honda:
For a long time, Yuki had been locked up in a small, dark room by Akito. The darkness frightened him closing off his soul to strangers. However, Tohru said "Please become my friend" to him. She also asked him to play cards and badminton, and grew vegetables together in his garden... That was the warm place that Yuki had been seeking.
Machi Kuragi:
The weakness and kindness that you have is so very precious.
Machi makes her first, however brief, appearance in Chapter 49 (Volume 9) of the Fruits Basket manga. When Yuki attends his first meeting as the school president of Kaibara High, he enters the school president's office only to find it trashed horribly, with a young girl sitting miserably on the floor in the middle of the mess. Yuki struggles to approach her, but she suddenly violently stands up and apologises somewhat coldly, stating that she will clean the mess up immediately. Yuki, not knowing what to say, is then abruptly "introduced" to Kakeru Manabe, the new school vice president. After saying a few things about himself, Manabe then introduces the previously mysterious girl to Yuki. Her name is Machi Kuragi and she is the new student treasurer.
She also appears to be quite humble towards Yuki and the other council members, often doing what ever they say and rarely speaking up for her own wishes-- that is, if she has any. Despite all such things, however, Machi is a deeply kind and caring girl on the inside, as shown by her heartwarming reaction to when Yuki gives her a momiji leaf as a gift after he returns from his class trip to Kyoto. In Chapter 125, Machi is able to tell Yuki of her feelings. They are last seen holding hands.
In Chapter 128, Yuki grabbs on to Machi's arm, looking very flustered and says he has to tell her something. The curse, maybe...?
Kakeru Manabe:
Together the two, although their differences are quite obvious and their personalities at times clash with one another, have developed a rather bondful relationship and the two are now finally seen smiling together in some parts of the manga, rather than Manabe just teasing Yuki, or falling asleep while Yuki is talking.
Updates: None as of yet.
