Age: 13
Character you are applying for: Sohma Yuki.
How far are you in the manga and anime?: I've seen the entire anime, and I'm all caught up to Chapter 128 in the manga.
How often will you be available to Roleplay?: During June, while my final exams are going on, I'll be able to get on at least three times a week. After that, however, I should be able to get on everyday. ^^
How should this character be portrayed? What is he/she like?: While everyone around him sees Yuki as being perfect and a flawless genius, Yuki himself has no love or respect for himself. The cause of Yuki's lack of self-confidence is largely due to Akito. The psychological trauma Yuki suffered from Akito is very deep and for a period, like Kisa, Yuki also lost the ability to speak.
Yuki also has an older brother whom he has troubles getting along with. However, he is trying to understand and learn more about him. And of course, he also hates Kyou. (Though, he did try to get along with him at first, but was met with a barrage of verbal abuse). Yuki isn't good at housework, cooking or little things like tying ties. However, little by little he is trying to deal with these weaknesses.
While Kyou is quite open about expressing his feelings, Yuki is not very good at expressing himself. However, from time to time, he will express his love in an almost heart-stopping manner. On the school roof, the stairs and in the back garden of the ryokan, he suddenly became the prince. Not the pseudo-prince image that he shows at school, but Tohru's true prince. That change in himself is slowly seeing his regular self also change.
One thing you like about this character: I love the way he realizes that he can't blame others for problems in his past, even telling Akito that he forgave her at New Years. (With disastrous results).
At least ten lines of sample RP:
Staring blankly at the window that provided a thin strip of light in the otherwise pitch black room, Sohma Yuki sat in silence, knees pulled to his chest and head resting limply upon them. Aside from school, the nezumi barely left this room, or Akito's side, for that matter. He hated this room... locked away... listening to Akito's poisonous words of this dark world, where no light would shine and there was no mercy for the innocent. Yet, in this room lay some obscure security. He couldn't be looked upon with those indifferent eyes... those scary indifferent eyes...
"Don't be mistaken. Just listen, this world is pitch-black. Your whole life will be pitch-black. There aren't any possibilities or hopes, you're going through life on a black road, so don't fool yourself and think 'someday someone will save me'"
It's true... because... Everyone hates the rat... The young boy thought numbly, placing a hand to his mouth as another bout of coughing ensued. Coughs were a regular occurrence for him, so he was used to the dull ache in his lungs. Akito would often lash out because of this, though, finding them annoying. Still, there was little the boy could do about them.
On the way back from school earlier, he'd seen the other children of the Jyunishi walking home from school, as the car stopped at a traffic light. They all looked so happy, so content. Just playing as normal children might. Yuki missed the days he had done so, with his first "friends". It wasn't like he could reach out to them... try to get along with them... simply because...
Everyone hates the Rat.
Kuragi Machi is my favourite character.
